Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (book 2) by J.k. Rowling. This is the true UK original Adult cover book. The book is attributed to Joanne Rowling, later changed to simply JK. When Harry Potter first appeared on the scene back in the late 90’s it was noticed that city stockbroker types were reading the books whilst commuting into London. Unable to admit to reading a “childrens” book, avid fans took to replacing the dust covers with something a little more in keeping with a financial whiz! Books were also hidden behind copies of The Times and other broadsheet newspapers! Bloomsbury took the then unusual step of reissuing the books with adult covers. However, by the time Bloomsbury got around to doing this everyone was reading the books openly and without shame anyway! Hence, the series never really took off and was abandoned after the Goblet of Fire book. The book has been read but is in overall very good condition with only minor wear. The book carries the now famous full 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 number line to the publication page. Much harder to find than the childrens cover edition. A real find that will make an excellent addition to any collection!
